From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On may 28, 2021 at approximately 1910 local time a Cessna 177 registration number N1525H with the pilot and one passenger landed on a part 91 flight to (eau) in Eau Claire, WI. The pilot reported the following. On approach when selecting gear down and retarding the throttle, he heard the gear horn and noted the nose gear indicator was not green. He then initiated a go-around. The pilot cycled the gear twice noting the main gear cycled normally but the tower reported the nose gear was still not down. Now the pilot with the main gear handle in the down position, attempted to utilize the aircraft?s manual hand pump. Following him disengaging the gear system fuse, he had minimal pumping action, available, and was unable to get the gear down and locked. Once again the pilot cycled the gear using the dash mounted control lever. During this cycle the pilot noted the fuse tripped during the down portion of the cycle, now the main gear in the down position was not fully locked. The pilot reset the electrical power and cycled the gear up then down. On the down cycle with full negative amp draw on the ammeter the breaker tripped. With the gear down but unknowing if locked notified the tower of his intent to land. The pilot shutdown the engine and landed on runway 14. The main gear touched down and when the nose lowered the nose of the aircraft impacted the runway. The aircraft slid to a stop on the runway. No injuries were reported. Day VFR weather conditions prevailed at the time.
