From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The cargo personnel loaded the Cessna 207 aircraft and closed the cargo doors. The airman did another inspection of the aircraft walking around the plane and checking the cargo door. Then secured the front cargo door with the hand lock latch. The airman departed runway 19R and at 500' set the flaps to up, the back cargo door opened slightly. After a few more seconds the rear cargo door opened all the way. The airman requested to land and tower cleared him to land on 19R. The airman landed without incident. The rear window of the aircraft was cracked and the sheet metal behind the door was dented and needed repairs. The aircraft received a ferry permit and was flown to anchorage for repairs. The cargo door was not secured properly by cargo personnel. The airman should have verified by opening the front cargo door to verify the pins were in place on the rear cargo door. This procedure is taught during initial company flight training.
