From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

06/15/2021 At approximately 12:19PM the pilot was handed off by approach over btg VOR to pdx tower which cleared him for the right downwind to 28R at Portland international (pdx). The pilot proceeded to configure the airplane and descend to pattern altitude while bleeding some speed off with the speed brakes. After entering the right downwind abeam the tower the pilot proceeded to execute and verify the landing checklist, which included the landing gear down check that the pilot performed 3 times (downwind, base and short final) verifying that the landing light and mechanical indication on the floorboard confirmed landing gear down and locked. After finalizing landing configuration and turning final for 28R the pilot asked tower for a wind check which confirmed winds at 190 degrees at 7 knots. The pilot corrected for wind to maintain centerline and verified glide slope (2 red 2 white) on PAPI was performed. Estimated 75 knots over the numbers followed by power reduction to idle on flare which resulted in a soft bounce which the pilot followed with power increase to reduce angle of descent and land the airplane.

After landing the pilot rolled for about 300 to 400 feet down the centerline, correcting with rudder inputs, the pilot felt the right main gear collapse followed by scraping and the remaining left main and nose wheel collapsed as well resulting in a propeller strike and skidding on the runway to a full stop.

As the airplane came to a stop, the pilot pulled the checklist to execute the emergency procedure but as that happened, the pilot noticed a burning smell and smoke which prompted the pilot to ask the passengers to evacuate immediately. The pilot turned the fuel valve to the shut off position and turned off the master then evacuated the aircraft. After a couple of minutes away from the airplane and verifying that a fire was not present and no evidence of smoke remained, the pilot returned to the aircraft and finished verifying it was in a safe configuration and verified no fuel leaks or other fluids present in the vicinity. Airport operations, airport fire, and FBO personnel soon joined and helped verify that all passengers were safe and no injuries resulted from the event. Aircraft was then lifted with a crane and the landing gear extended and towed off the runway to a maintenance facility.

As the FAA filed it
