From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Uncertificated pilot departed runway 11 for his first flight in privacy data omitted experimental amateur build aircraft (N8010B). After turning left down wind, the engine started making noises, sputtered and stalled. After several restart attempts the engine re-started and then stalled again. The pilot stated he gave up trying to restart the engine and looked for a spot to do an emergency landing and glide the aircraft. After gliding to an empty grass field, the landing gear grabbed tall grass causing the aircraft to flip tail over nose. The aircraft sustained significant damage to landing gear strut attach point, completely compress and left wing spar.

The pilot stated the reason the engine quit was due to him putting the incorrect fuel in the aircraft prior to flight. He added straight gas and the 2 stroke Rotax takes oil/gas mix.
