From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

During an interview with the pilot, the pilot stated he was on his way home after the purchase of the aircraft in south Texas.

Aircraft took off from baytown Texas 54T at approximately 6:30 am and was attempting to get to childress, Texas but due to large thunderstorm activity and poor visibility in the area it was decided due to weather that we would divert to a local airport. At approximately 0900 local pilot diverted to Palestine Texas to wait out the storm. Pilot stated "it was a normal procedure normal landing , nothing unusual". Right after touchdown pilot stated he heard a big clunk snap sound on the right side and lost controllability of the aircraft. The aircraft started to veer to the right and another large pop sound was heard and the propeller hit the ground. The aircraft slid off the side of the runway and came to a complete stop.

The pilot and his passengerprivacy data omitted exited the aircraft without assistance and were not injured during the incident.
