From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

While on downwind for runway 18 at Caddo Mills municipal (7F3), pilot felt a "pop" with associated yaw to the right. Left rudder and left aileron were applied but did not stop right turn. Pilot initiated a descending turn toward a freshly tilled field for a forced landing. Upon touch down the main landing gear wheels dug into the ground causing the aircraft to nose over and come to a rest upside down. Pilot and passenger exited the aircraft uninjured.

Dirt packed into main wheel brakes indicate/support that the brakes dug into the ground, causing roll over.

Propeller and engine cowling damaged due to contact with ground.

Left wing support struts deformed/bent indicate left wing tip/leading edge impacted ground during roll over.

Rudder and vertical stabilizer crushed during roll over.

Substantial damage.

No visible leaks or evidence of fire.

One control cables at rudder pulled away/broken.
