From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot was performing agriculture operations when he reported the engine suddenly vibrated and then stopped. The pilot was approaching two sets of high power tension lines, and had to fly underneath the power lines. After clearing the power lines, he was able to land the aircraft in another field. During landing, the aircrafts landing gear was caught in the ground and the aircraft cartwheeled on top of itself, positioning the aircraft tail up.

There is substantial damage to the wing spars, propeller, and landing gear.

The pilot was able to remove himself from the aircraft and did not acquire any injuries. The pilot promptly returned back to the aircraft and turned off the master power switch.

Pilot statement has been added to the office working file.
