From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

At 1600 MST the pilot in command (PIC) fueled N1651J to full capacity (50 gallons). The PIC and two passengers departed st. george regional airport (sgu) and landed uneventfully at Panguitch Municipal Airport (U55). The elevation at sgu is 2,700 feet and the elevation at U55 is 6,762 feet. All individuals left the aircraft and the PIC returned at 1900 with two different passengers. A preflight was performed, 11 gallons of fuel was determined to have been consumed and the calculated weight was determined to be under gross max takeoff. Density altitude was not factored but was identified later to be at ~9000 feet elevation. The PIC performed a max performance takeoff, brought the aircraft to rotation and lifted off. The aircraft reached ~100 feet elevation before takeoff was aborted and the aircraft was landed in a field. Gross weight calculations at the time of the accident were 2,199 lbs and the maximum gross weight was 2,100 lbs.

As the FAA filed it

AT 1600 MST THE PILOT IN COMMAND (PIC) FUELED N1651J TO FULL CAPACITY (50 GALLONS). THE PIC AND TWO PASSENGERS DEPARTED ST.
