From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

ATC description:

N145AW on the ILS final for rwy 18L indicated left of course on approximately 1 NM final. N145AW corrected and went through the final and drifted right of course. Final monitored east called local control and asked if he saw N145AW drifting right of course with a response from local control I guess. Local control issued a go around to N145AW. N145AW'S flight path overflew taxiway c with aircraft on the taxiway. N145AW was at 003 AGL and flew over ml 1491 (A319) and JIA5119

(CRJ9). N145AW stated that he knew he was right of course and was correcting and did not have the runway in sight. The facility confirmed that the asde was in a south configuration and an atap alert did not activate. Closest proximity 59' lateral and 300' vertical.

FAA inspectors:

Investigation: N145AW incident clt approach

Description: N145AW incident clt approach

Sas: TEA68FY211638

Who: privacy data omitted

What: ATC issued a report for an incident involving N145AW

When: 08/16/2021

Where: clt rwy 18L approach

Why: ATC states that on missed approach which was issued by ATC aircraft overflew other aircraft on taxiway.

Cfr's violated: none

Contributing factors: ATC issued the go-around with heading vectors

Recommendations: no recommendations for the described event due to the pilot following the assigned vectors by ATC. In review of the falcon data, ATC gave the pilot vectors during the go-around missed approach. The pilot was IFR and visibility restricted due to clouds and fog (IMC) during the missed approach procedure and the pilot would have no way of knowing he was over the taxiway. During the missed approach the pilot was following the assigned heading vectors issued by ATC at the time ATC reports the aircraft overflew other aircraft on taxiway.

As the FAA filed it
