From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

N9835R was involved in a gear up landing at the Osage Beach, MO airport on September 17, 2021. A flight instructor was conducting a flight review for a non-current private pilot in N9835R and was acting as pilot in command. As N9835R was entering the airport environment for an approach to runway 32, the private pilot stated that he mistakenly selected the flap lever, thinking that it was the gear handle. The flight instructor stated that he thought he had verified that the pilot flying did select the landing ear to the down position. N9853R continued the approach and touched down on runway 32 with the landing gear retracted. The aircraft sustained substantial damage.
