From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

At 0723 EDT, N837UP was in its initial climb out after departing Pittsburgh International Airport (pit) en route to nashville international airport (bna) when the pilot in command (PIC) heard a loud clicking sound and noticed the left hand windshield was beginning to crack. Upon his observation, he alerted the second in command (SIC), who was flying the aircraft, to stop his climb. The PIC then contacted air traffic control (ATC), declared an emergency, and requested a return to pit. ATC provided vectors for landing to runway 32 and the aircraft returned to pit without further incident.
