From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

As reported by pilot/flight instructor privacy data omittedon October 3, 2021 Cessna 150M, N7333A, was performing flight instruction near Oxford NC. A simulated smoke in the cockpit example was requested by the instructor. The student moved the throttle to idle. Then the student stated to the instructor, your aircraft. The instructor then resumed control of the aircraft and discovered the engine did not respond to throttle input and it appeared, the engine was not running. The pilot scanned the surroundings and decided to land in a clear field. During the decent, the pilot attempted to regain power with no success. The aircraft landed in the selected cleared field and rolled towards a slightly elevated service road in the field. The aircraft struck the road and the nose landing gear failed and departed the aircraft upon contact, allowing the propeller to strike the ground and the nose of the aircraft struck the ground and flipped over, tail over fuselage direction. The aircraft came to rest inverted.
