What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
On October 22, 2021, the pilot of a Cessna 208 lost control of the aircraft during rotation. The pilot stated that as the aircaft reached rotation speed, it abrupty began to pull to the right. The pilot was unable to regain directional control and stated that the left rudder felt limited. Due to the speed of the aircraft and because it was partially airborne with a high liklihood of reaching the float pond if a full abort was initiated, the pilot attempted to steer the aircraft back towards the runway. This manuevar resulted in a violent ground loop causing substantial damage. There were no injuries. The cause of the control issue was unable to be determined.
A passenger seated in the co-pilot's seat stated that he did not come in contact with the rudder pedals at any point.
