From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

As I approached N43 I radioed on 123.0 that I would be overflying the field, which I did so near pattern altitude. I wanted to see the direction of the windsock. The windsock did not show any wind. I decided to traverse the full pattern of the airport for a landing on 36. I checked my landing check list and made a mental note that I did not need to drop by gear this early. I entered on the base, I then flew up-wind, then the crosswind, then the downwind, then base, then final all for 36. I normally enter on the crosswind to base leg for 36. I have done this many, many times so I know it by heart. Adding the additional pattern work threw off my routine. I did not check my landing check list again. No excuse, it should not have happened. I was just so used to the same process. I did my check list early in the pattern and made a mental note that I did not need to drop by gear that soon. I didn't check again after that.
