What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
Pilot took off from keug at 14:28 PST after a one and a half hour weather delay and refueling stop headed for krgb. As the aircraft climbed through 5000 feet to filed altitude of 9000 feet the aircraft yaw dampner disengaged. The fuel gauges dropped offline. The fuel flow gauges and torque gauges went offline. Both the pilot?s and the copilot?s attitude and directional gyros, and the pilot?s electrical altimeter all froze in position. The two garmin 750 nxi gps/nav/comms starting flashing. Nothing was displaying on either of the garmin screens. The pressurization started surging, with the cabin making wild up and down swings. The pilot could no longer communicate with seattle center, nor cascade approach but could intermittently hear them calling. The pilot attempted to call seattle center on his cell phone but could not get any reception. Pilot used his yoke mounted garmin 796 GPS to turn aircraft back toward keug. Pilot used standby attitude indicator and copilot altimeter for approach. Radios were intermittantly receiving cascade approach and he heard them state they knew he had some kind of emergency and he was clear to land on either runway at keug. The pilot stated he smelled electrical smoke in the cockpit. Pilot attempted to lower flaps and landing gear with no success. Pilot attempted to extend landing gear with emergency extend handle with no success. Pilot landed with gear up on keug on runway 16 right, arrested descent at 10 feet AGL, pulled power to idle, feathered both props, and shutdown both engines.
Aircraft landed just short of taxiway A-5 and almost cleared the runway.
Pilot switched off all electrical switches.
Pilot and two passengers performed emergency egress with no injuties.
There was no fire and no fuel leakage after touchdown. ELT did not activate.
Emergency crews secured the area.
