From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

2021-12-09 N4109N Mooney M20C gear up landing Litchfield MN kljf. Pilot departed maple lake airport kmgg for kljf. During takeoff PIC remembered that on a previous flight the transponder did not automatically change from standby to flight as it is programmed to. Instead of bringing the gear up the PIC was focused on the transponder. On final for landing at ljf PIC reached for the johnson bar to put the landing gear down. Not realizing that the gear was already down the PIC retracted the landing gear landing the aircraft with the gear up. No injuries and minor damage. Airman counseled on items including but not limited to use of checklists, maintenance entry requirements, cockpit distractions.
