From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On 12/13/21 at about 2130Z hours N856SH, an experimental amphibious airplane, attempted a landing at Laconia airport (lci) after experiencing a landing gear malfunction shortly after takeoff. During the landing, the left front landing gear collapsed and the fuselage contacted the runway. There were no injuries and the aircraft sustained minor damage.

According to the PIC, shortly after taking off he attempted to raise the landing gear but only the left main landing gear retracted. He attempted to cycle the gear multiple times but couldn?t move the left gear down or the right gear up. After trouble shooting in the air, he elected to attempt a landing touching down on the right wheel and scraping along the hull during the roll out. After landing, the airplane was jacked up and both the left and right gear locked into place without issue. No damage to the landing gear was identified nor was any malfunction or defect identified in the gear actuation. I recommend no further action.
