From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Student pilot was practicing solo touch and go's. weather was VFR and winds were calm. Student pilot had executed 2 prior touch and go's without incident. On the third attempt; aircraft was high and did not touch down on the runway until approximately 1000FT from the threshold. The aircraft began to porpoise after the nose tire made contact with the runway first, then the main wheels, before bouncing airborne again. The aircraft porpoised three times before the pilot pitched the nose of the aircraft down, landing nose wheel first; overloading the nose landing gear upper attach fitting and causing the nose landing gear to collapse and propeller strike.
