From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The pilot landed on runway 27 at Melbourne, Florida airport with no issues. When the pilot attempted a right turn onto the taxiway at the airport, the pilot lost control of the aircraft causing the runway excursion. The pilot noticed during the attempted right turn the right rudder flight control input had no effect on the aircraft. The aircraft went off the runway into the grass about 50 feet. There was no damage to the aircraft. The pilot reported no injuries. After the runway excursion the pilot noticed the right rudder flight control linkage was missing the pedal pin and safety cotter pin. The right rudder clevis pedal pin and broken cotter pin were found in the aircraft post incident. When the cotter pin broke the right rudder pedal clevis pin fell out of the flight control linkage causing the pilot to lose right rudder flight control inputs. Without right rudder flight control inputs the aircraft went off the runway causing the incident.
