From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On December 30, 2021, at 1715 CDT, a Cessna 210N bearing registration number N6535Y. On final approach to sjt (San Angelo Mathis field), the pilot stated he placed the gear handle in down position and the gear made the usual noises accompanied by the normal clunk sounds but without the green gear safe light illumination. He performed a visual check and could see the main gear appeared in the normal down position but was unable to visualize the nose wheel so he decided to go around and called the tower and asked if they could confirm the nose gear down and they informed the pilot that they did not see the nose gear. On touchdown, the propeller and nose of the aircraft contacted the ground and skidded down the runway. The aircraft was being operated on a personal flight. Visual meteorological conditions prevailed at the time, and no flight plan was filled. The aircraft sustained minor damage to the nose gear doors and exhaust duct. The pilot sustained no injuries. The flight originated from Mathis field San Angelo, TX on December 30, 2021, at 1645 CDT.
