The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

The PIC elected to attempt to land at private airstrip located approximately three and one half miles southwest of klzz. During the approach, the pilot stated he thought he was too high, performed ?a turn? To lose altitude. He stated that he ?misjudged? His initial height and the turn was not a good idea. He stated that at this point he abandoned landing and the field and elected to land ?straight? Ahead.

During the landing, the aircraft impacted a raised mound and caused the aircraft to flip upside down approximately one-half mile from the private airstrip. There were no reported injuries. The aircraft sustained substantial damage to the propeller, wing struts, landing gear, fuselage, right-lower wing, vertical stabilizer and rudder.
