From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Aircraft was landing runway 30 at C83 Byron, CA. Aircraft touched down in 3-point configuration and began to veer left. The pilot in the left seat attempted to correct with rudder inputs which aggravated the oscillations. The aircraft exited to the right or east side of runway 30 at mid-field. The left tire dug into the dirt, collapsing and folding under the aircraft so the left tire was now on the right side of the aircraft. Left wing tip and propeller contacted the ground, engine still running at impact. A portion of the fuselage below the pilots door separated due to the wing lift strut pulling up at wing impact and left gear pulling out of fuselage. Pilot shut down aircraft engine. Both pilot and CFI exited the aircraft with no injuries. A tow truck lifted the nose by the engine mounts at the firewall and wheeled the aircraft to the ramp and tied down. No mechanical irregularities were noted by the pilot of the CFI prior to the accident.

As the FAA filed it
