From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On 02/11/2022 the CFI was conducting training in a Piper pa 28R-18 equipped with an emergency gear lever pinned in the handle up position allowing manual override capability of landing gear auto extend system. Following the first two successful touch-and-go landings and gear cycles the crew set up for a power off short approach landing. The crew input 10 degrees flaps and glided at 100 mph. At some point the gear selector handle was put to the down position. The aircraft settled on to the runway and slid to a stop.
