From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Sna general aviation incident report stated that on feb 17, 2022 at 0832 local time, N197TA landed on runway 02L and proceeded to exit on a closed portion of taxiway g. the report states that the aircraft "appears to have hit a metal marker and appeared to have paint damage on the nose wheel consistent with hitting the marker".

Inspector privacy data omitted spoke with the PIC of the aircraft as well as the chief instructor for the flight school and the fleet manager. The PIC says he did not hit any runway markers. He said that airport operations approached him while tying down his aircraft and they inspected the plane together and found no damage and therefore is confused by this report as it does not match his recollection of his interaction with airport operations that day.

Both the chief instructor and the fleet manager confirmed there is no damage to the aircraft.

Long beach FSDO will take no further action.
