From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The aircraft started takeoff roll on runway 17 at 1545. Video evidence showed the aircraft began to rotate approximately 50 ft. passed the PAPI lights. The nose landing gear left the ground and shortly thereafter the main landing gear followed. The aircraft drifted to the left of the runway after takeoff. Approximately 230 feet past the PAPI lighting the aircraft settled back to the ground in the grass 75 ft. left of centerline and drug the tail leaving a 15 ft. ground scar with the tie-down eyelet. The aircraft then lifted back off a second time and continued to turn left to approximately 60 degrees to the runway. The aircraft then settled to the ground. At 270 ft. left of centerline the LH wingtip drug the ground leaving a 32 ft. ground scar before the main wheels touched the ground. The main wheels contacted the ground approximately 311 ft. left of centerline. The aircraft then travel 308 ft. before striking the airport boundary fence. The aircraft rolled through the barbed wire fence, striking 4 fence posts and came to rest 72 ft. from the fence line. The aircraft rolled a total distance of 380 ft. on the ground from where the main wheel ground scars began. The aircraft came to rest intact with no missing components along the accident path. Continuity of flight controls was established. Pilot reported that the engine was not running and the propeller/spinner were wrapped with barbed wire. Both pilot and passenger were unharmed and were able to extricate themselves from the a/c. the aircraft sustained substantial damage during the accident.

As the FAA filed it
