From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On March 23, 2022 at approximately 9:18PM local eastern standard time (0118 UTC), N190JK, a Cessna 560 encountered a runway excursion off the left side of runway 29 at the Butler County Airport (khao), Hamilton, Ohio. The pilot was landing on runway 29 when the aircraft encounter a wind gust of approximately 27 knots from the left side of the aircraft. Runway 29/11 is 5500 feet long and 100 feet wide with a landing length of 5500 feet. The runway surface is asphalt and reported in fair condition by fltplan. Com. The khao weather at 0053Z reported VFR conditions and winds at 240 degrees, 13 knots gusting to 27 knots with a peak wind of 250 degrees at 27 knots recorded at 0016 UTC. The pilot stated the runway condition was damp from the earlier rain before their arrival.

The pilot stated he had listened to the khao automated surface observation system (ASOS) three times before landing at khao. The ASOS reported the surface wind at 260 degrees, 15 knots gusting to 27 knots. The khao ASOS was checked again after the landing check list was complete and there was no significant change in the wind conditions. The runway heading of Butler County Airport?s runway 29 is 295 degrees putting the crosswind wind 35 degrees off the left side of the aircraft?s nose, which calculates the 27-knot gust to be a 15-knot crosswind component for the aircraft. The maximum demonstrated crosswind for the citation ultra (ce 650) is 20 knots. Upon touching down on the runway the aircraft weathervaned to the left and there was not enough rudder to keep the aircraft on the runway. The aircraft exited the left side of the runway. The ground was soft because it had been raining all day. The left main tire went off into the wet grass pulling the nose tire and right main tire onto the grass. The aircraft rolled about 500 feet before the pilot could get the aircraft back onto the runway. There was no damage to the aircraft or airport property.

As the FAA filed it

THE RUNWAY SURFACE IS ASPHALT AND REPORTED IN FAIR CONDITION BY FLTPLAN.COM.
