From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The pilot of N6002K reported that he was having dificulties slowing the aircraft on final which caused him to get distracted and select the gear down late. The aircraft touched down on the runway before the gear was locked. The left wing hit the runway causing the aircraft to swerve to the left. The aircraft stopped in the grass on the left side of runway 20 at the Sacramento Executive Airport. An NTSB investigator was in the area and was present at the time the aircraft was recovered. He assessed the extent of the damage, to include the landing gear. The result of his investigation found only minor damage. Counselling was done with the pilot on June 28, 2022 at approximately 1530 on the importance of doing a go-around when distractions occur.
