From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Aircraft departed homer, AK @ approximately 1000 hrs, 1 pilot and 4 passengers on board, following 3 other company aircraft for flight seeing/bear viewing. The other 3 aircraft landed prior to the 4th aircraft from the same group. Since it was an uphill landing perpendicular to the aircraft, the left main landing gear tire (uphill) touched first. As the roll out continued, the pilot touched down the right main landing gear wheel. As soon as the right touched down, the pilot heard a "snap" and saw the right main landing gear and tire depart the aircraft. The pilot induced left rudder to keep the aircraft on the beach and out of the water. The pilot then pulled the mixture and shutdown the aircraft. No injuries to passengers or the pilot and the exited the aircraft.

As the FAA filed it
