What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On June 12, 2022 at approximately 17:29 EST, a Beechcraft A-23-19 musketeer aircraft N5671S, owned by a private corporation and piloted by a student pilot, privacy data omitted, and instructor pilot (PIC),privacy data omitted struck a deer on runway 3 kfpk airport in Charlotte mi while attempting a touch and go landing. Upon landing the student pilot added power to the hazard aircraft to begin a takeoff roll out when the student pilot and the PIC noticed out of the left side of the aircraft a ?brown blur?. The PIC quickly took control of the aircraft before they both felt and heard a large thump. The PIC pulled back engine power and brought the hazard aircraft to a complete stop on the runway to assess what happened. Once the PIC realized what had happened, the PIC was able to taxi the aircraft back to the ramp at kfpk and shut down the aircraft. Both pilots were uninjured and no other aircraft were damaged in this incident. Initial incident pictures revealed suspected damage to the propeller, nose landing gear and lower engine cowling. Due to the amount of blood from the struck animal, no further damage assessment could be made.

On June 21, 2022 at 11:00 EST the FAA iic was able to visit the incident site and examine the hazard aircraft. Upon inspection it was determine the aircraft suffered minor damage. The propeller was bent and of by about .5 inches from each tip of the blades and is clearly indicated by photographs. The engine cowling was significantly bent up and is also clearly indicated by photographs. The nose landing gear was determined to not be damaged. After the removal of all the animal blood. No other damage to the aircraft was noticed. The iic also interviewed the lead mechanic about his findings and they were the same as the iics.

Due to the nature of this incident the iic has determined there was nothing either of the pilots could due to prevent this incident from happening and this incident is considered closed. No follow up required.
