From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On approach to Tallahassee, FL (tlh) the pilot experienced engine power loss. Pilot initiated an immediate landing. Shortly before touchdown the engine quit running and the pilot did not have sufficient power, altitude or airspeed to land on the paved runway. Aircraft landed in the grass short of the runway, on airport property on the approach end of runway 18. The aircraft had enough momentum to roll from the grass onto the taxiway where the aircraft came to a stop. After a few minutes the pilot was able to restart the engine, although still rough running and taxi to his tie down on the field.
