From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Gyroplane, departed kingston, OK (F31) for a local area flight. As the pilot was flying on the side of a lake, the aircraft lost power and only had about 30% power. Then the aircraft increased power (about 70%). The aircraft flew over a hill with trees and on the other side was a power line. The pilot stated he didn't have the power to climb over the line, so he attempted to go under it, when the rotor hit the line. The aircraft continued for about 1/2 mile, when the pilot set it down in a small clearing. The rotor hit surrounding trees and brush causing damgage to the aircraft. The pilot stated that he had no injuries. He also stated the he had sumped the fuel tank, but because of the design of it, he believes that some water went through the engine causing the eratic rmp. The accident was approximately 7 wsw of dua in wooded area near lake texoma.

As the FAA filed it
