From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Part 91, day, VFR flight departing khsd runway 18 for a local flight. Preflight and engine run up where normal as stated by the pilot. Density altitude was calculated at 3116 ft. immediately following takeoff, pilot was unable to maintain airspeed with full throttle. After losing ground effect, pilot was unable to climb beyond ~50FT. Pilot attempted right hand turn to the west to return to khsd, immediately entered aerodynamic stall and impacted the ground. Impact sequence was right wingtip, propeller and lower front right fuselage, aircraft settled upright with right wing detached on the right side of the fuselage. The aircraft came to rest heading south. EMS arrived, removed pilot and passenger and transported both to the hospital.
