From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Landed on rwy 25 with 4-10 kt winds out of 290. Slowed to taxi speed. Making left turn onto taxiway delta in an aircraft with only rudder and braking action for steering (no NLG steering mechanism).

To aid his turn, he added power.

He says he was turning into a slight gusty crosswind.

Adding too much power too late, combined with his admitted slow reaction time, he ran off of the paved surface through the grass. Right wing struck ground-based weather equipment mounted on steel posts.
