From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

PIC stated that he had not flown in a while and enlisted the help of a flight instructor to check him out in privacy data omitted. PIC flew aircraft and had completed several landings at pickens with no issues. PIC then departed and went to Donaldson and let complacency set in. He did not execute the pre-landing checklist and missed putting the landing gear down. He stated it was one of his smoothest landings ever until he realized he missed the gear and the plane came to a sliding stop on its belly. Both he and the instructor had noise-canceling headsets on and missed hearing the gear unsafe warning horn when power was reduced before the flare.
