From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The pilot (CFI) was giving instruction/demonstration flight to the second pilot (private pilot) in the Cessna model 319, a conventional gear aircraft. CFI made the first takeoff and landing to demonstrate the charecteristics and performance of the aircraft. The second pilot (private pilot) then took controls and set up for landing. Upon touch down the left main gear began to chatter. The CFI assumed control of the aircraft and added power to keep the nose up, but the left gear began to sweep aft. The power was reduced to idle. Aircraft settled to the runway and slid approximately 20 yards to stop.
