From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

PIC was evaluating landing options with a flat bush tire for a possible landing on grass adjacent to runway 20. After a light touchdown on the grass, the PIC initiated a climb. At approximately 50 feet the engine began to loose power and the PIC lowered the nose. Engine power returned and climb resumed. At approximately 350 feet AGL the engine lost power. PIC elected to turn right to try to return to the runway. Aircraft impacted the ground 500 feet southwest of the runway.
