From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On September 20, 2022, the aircraft privacy data omitted, N3N-3, on landing runway 27 Riverside airport (ral), veered off to the south side of the runway and went into the grass area between the runway and the taxi way. The plane hit the runway marking and came to stop. The pilot stated wind gust and caused the right wing got lifted and pushed the plane to left. The pilot was able to taxi on to the taxiway alpha and continued to its hangar without any further incident. Airport ops reported no FOD located runway. No gust nor significant weather was reported for the time of incident. The pilot was sole occupant, and no injury was reported.

Inspectors from Riverside FSDO contacted the pilot and visited the hangar to investigate the damage. The aircraft has obvious damage to the fabric on the underside of the right wing in two places. Each hole measures approximately 12 inches long. Inside the inboard hole in the skin, damage can be seen to the rib and spar forward of the inboard flap. Several rivets on the bottom have sheared and separated the rib from the spar, there is torn metal and it could not be determined if there is any bending or further structural damage. At initial look, damage appears minor.
