From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot departed from Y31 after fueling and was on IFR flight plan. Pilot was aware of the NOTAMS that runway lights became inoperable. He opted to land and was cleared for the RNAV 18 approach. Pilot could see the blue taxi lights, so he kept his course to the left of the taxiway lights. He turned on the aircrfat's landing light and looked for the runway; it was very difficult to see the runway edges. He tried to align himself with the runway but touched down diagonally, and shortly after, was on the grass field. He did not steer due to being on grass. He slowed down the airplane but ran out of the field and stopped in a ditch. There were no physical injuries and exited the aircraft safely.
