From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On 10/21/22 at 2:51 EST, the student pilotprivacy data omitted a PA28-235, was practicing solo takeoffs and landings at Chester County G O Carlson Airport (mqs). During the first landing, the aircraft touched down on runway 29, then immediately veered to the left, and continued off the runway until the propeller struck the ground, collapsing the nose gear at which time the aircraft came to rest on a berm.

Airport surveillance video showed the aircraft on final approach and, upon landing, the aircraft lowered its right wing, scraping it on the runway after touchdown before veering left and continuing its roll before the nose gear collapsed.

Post-incident investigation identified a flat left main tire, with a foreign nail-like FOD object embedded in the tread of the tire.
