What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
After performing pre-flight PIC confirmed the winds and receive taxi clearance to runway 32 for a local flight in the pattern, at kcrg. Taxied the aircraft to the runup area of runway 32, performed pre-takeoff runup and test. All testing of the engine and runup procedures were within acceptable ranges.
PIC contacted the tower, receive instructions to taxi to and hold short of runway 32 for inbound traffic and clearance from the tower.
PIC cleared for takeoff, proceeded to taxi onto runway 32, all readings still in the “green” and good to go for takeoff. Lined up on the runway, added full power and maximum RPM were achieved, in the range of 6700 RPM. PIC had a successful liftoff and proceeded to climb. Added forward elevator controls to increase airspeed and maintain proper angle of attack and proceeded to climb through 100 feet while maintaining center line on runway 32.
At about 150 feet altitude and close to midpoint of the runway, PIC noticed a drop in my engine RPM, backed off the throttle a bit and the RPM surged and then began to sputter, as if it was not receiving enough fuel. At this point, PIC aborted the takeoff and proceeded to setup for landing.
PIC immediately put the nose down and pulled the throttle back to idle and focused on landing. PIC contacted the tower to advise was aborting the takeoff when PIC pulled back on the rudder to flare for landing, the aircraft stalled and the left wing dropped, with the left gear making contact with the ground first.
The force of the impact caused the left gear to break, thus causing acft. To slide to a stop toward the end of the runway. PIC then proceeded to exit the aircraft, after communicating his condition with the tower. The emergency response team arrived several minutes later to ascertain injuries, PIC was not injured in the landing and waited by the airplane for further instructions.
The only damage to the structure of the aircraft is the left landing gear, also some scraping of the fiberglass hull where it dragged across the asphalt. One of the propeller blades broke as well, due to the force of the impact. There is no indication that the prop struck any part of the aircraft and must have just broke due to the sudden jolt from the landing.
As the FAA filed it
AFTER PERFORMING PRE-FLIGHT PIC CONFIRMED THE WINDS AND RECEIVE TAXI CLEARANCE TO RUNWAY 32 FOR A LOCAL FLIGHT IN THE PATTERN, AT KCRG.
