From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

PIC summarized statement below:

"I was flying privacy data omitted, a searey, on Sunday, November 6, 2022. I was pilot in command. All such water landings required me to retract the landing gear. I then returned to 97FL, love’s landing, and put the landing gear down for this land landing.

Started a second flight of the day in privacy data omitted with another passenger. Departed 97FL, love’s landing, around 8:15 a.m. the weather upon departure from 97FL was good. After departure, I made an approach to land on Lake Weir. I was going about 45 mph as I touched down on the water. I landed on Lake Weir with the landing gear down and extended. Apparently, I neglected to raise the landing gear when I departed 97FL. Upon touchdown on Lake Weir in privacy data omitted, at a speed of about 45 mph, the aircraft nosed in at a shallow angle. We did not flip over. When we came to a stop on the water, water was coming into the aircraft. My passenger and I bailed out of privacy data omitted, which had settled into the water upright.

privacy data omitted Was damaged in this water landing, cracking in the bow cap of privacy data omittedthat occurred during the gear down water landing. The damage privacy data omitted sustained was limited to a cracked windshield and two cracks on each side of the top of the bow cap. The hull, made of carbon fiber, sustained no damage. During the recovery process, when sea tow removed privacy data omitted from Lake Weir, I noticed that the landing gear was in the down position, confirming for me that I had landed gear down on Lake Weir.

privacy data omitted Hull suffered no damage during the gear down water landing I conducted on November 6, 2022."

PIC SUMMARIZED STATEMENT BELOW:

"I WAS FLYING ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^, A SEAREY, ON SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 6, 2022. I WAS PILOT IN COMMAND. ALL SUCH WATER LANDINGS REQUIRED ME TO RETRACT THE LANDING GEAR. I THEN RETURNED TO 97FL, LOVE’S LANDING, AND PUT THE LANDING GEAR DOWN FOR THIS LAND LANDING.

STARTED A SECOND FLIGHT OF THE DAY IN ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ WITH ANOTHER PASSENGER. UPON TOUCHDOWN ON LAKE WEIR IN ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^, AT A SPEED OF ABOUT 45 MPH, THE AIRCRAFT NOSED IN AT A SHALLOW ANGLE. WE DID NOT FLIP OVER. WHEN WE CAME TO A STOP ON THE WATER, WATER WAS COMING INTO THE AIRCRAFT. MY PASSENGER AND I BAILED OUT OF ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^, WHICH HAD SETTLED INTO THE WATER UPRIGHT.

^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ WAS DAMAGED IN THIS WATER LANDING, CRACKING IN THE BOW CAP OF ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^THAT OCCURRED DURING THE GEAR DOWN WATER LANDING. THE DAMAGE ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ SUSTAINED WAS LIMITED TO A CRACKED WINDSHIELD AND TWO CRACKS ON EACH SIDE OF THE TOP OF THE BOW CAP. THE HULL, MADE OF CARBON FIBER, SUSTAINED NO DAMAGE. DURING THE RECOVERY PROCESS, WHEN SEA TOW REMOVED ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ FROM LAKE WEIR, I NOTICED THAT THE LANDING GEAR WAS IN THE DOWN POSITION, CONFIRMING FOR ME THAT I HAD LANDED GEAR DOWN ON LAKE WEIR.

^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ HULL SUFFERED NO DAMAGE DURING THE GEAR DOWN WATER LANDING I CONDUCTED ON NOVEMBER 6, 2022."
