From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The commercial pilot had been flying this type of aircraft for many years. The pilot in command stated this aircraft is the only one he has ever encountered that had a parking brake. Most of the Velocity aircraft have heat where this particular aircraft had a parking brake. During cruise the airman stated he pulled the lever for heat but didn’t know this been changed to a parking brake lever. The lever was not placarded. Upon landing at Shelby NC (eho) the aircrafts tires locked up and skidded bursting the left main tire. No substantial damage to the aircraft or controls. No injuries of the occupant. The airman immediately called the charlotte NC FSDO and the NTSB. The aircraft was placed on dollies and towed to the hangar for repairs.
