What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
privacy data omitted Touched down on runway 17, Sugar Land Regional Airport. During deceleration phase, at approximately 90 KTS, the pilot monitoring and pilot flying briefly caught two deer once illuminated by the landing lights of the aircraft running west to east across runway approximately 10 feet to the right and forward of the nose of the aircraft. A jolt was felt as the aircraft was struck by the running deer. The aircraft was held steady as no safe evasive maneuvering or go around was an option at the aircraft state and position during the incident. The pilot flying maneuvered back to the runway centerline and continued the deceleration. The airplane was fully decelerated and the pilot monitoring notified sgr tower controller that privacy data omittedhad struck a deer on the runway. N29SB exited the runway at taxiway A4 and shut down to inspect the aircraft for the ability to taxi under power to the parking area. Upon shutting down one engine, the pilot flying remained in the aircraft and the pilot monitoring exited the aircraft to inspect the aircraft for damage. Engine and landing gear on the impact side were inspected and revealed no visible damage. The leading edge of the right wing root showed damage, crinkling of the metal and tearing away from the fasteners. The fuselage showed torn aluminum and dents, cracks and scrapes. The trailing edge of the inboard right wing flap showed biological matter, denting, crinkling and twisted metal also. The flaps were in the fully extended landing position of 35 degrees. After consulting with city of Sugar Land sgr airport operations personnel, pilots determined the aircraft was safe to leave the one engine shut down and taxi on one engine back to the hangar apron at privacy data omitted. Aircraft safely taxied and was shut down without further incident.
Aircraft was subsequently inspected with the following damage visible:
* Right wing – impact damage to leading edge at wing root area. Two fuselage removable panels at wing root also have damage. Cessna tech rep removed these panels. Damage inside this area appears to be limited to deformity of the attachment point structures for these panels and the inboard section of leading edge.
* Right wing – three areas of deformity on the lower skin surface. There is an approximately 14-inch long slight crease in the skin perpendicular to the fuselage on the inboard section of the wing just aft of an access panel near the fuselage. Assumption is one of the deer bounced up and impacted this area causing the deformity. There are two slight linear indentations approximately 12-inches apart, parallel to the fuselage, approximately mid-wing. These deformities are in-line with punctures in the flap. Assumption is these deformities were the result of deer antlers impacting in this area.
* Right wing flap – there are two punctures and two areas of deformity on the flap due to deer impacting the flap in different locations.
* Right horizontal stabilizer – two indentations on the leading edge. As portions of antler were missing from the deer that remained on the runway post-impact, suspect these indentations may have been caused by deer antler.
* Right engine – visually inspected with no anomalies visible. Cessna tech rep will be bore scoping to inspect further.
* Right engine nacelle – there are two scrapes on the empennage between nacelle and empennage. Possible impact damage.

^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ TOUCHED DOWN ON RUNWAY 17, SUGAR LAND REGIONAL AIRPORT. THE AIRPLANE WAS FULLY DECELERATED AND THE PILOT MONITORING NOTIFIED SGR TOWER CONTROLLER THAT ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^HAD STRUCK A DEER ON THE RUNWAY. AFTER CONSULTING WITH CITY OF SUGAR LAND SGR AIRPORT OPERATIONS PERSONNEL, PILOTS DETERMINED THE AIRCRAFT WAS SAFE TO LEAVE THE ONE ENGINE SHUT DOWN AND TAXI ON ONE ENGINE BACK TO THE HANGAR APRON AT ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.
