From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On 12/13/2022 at approximately 1346 EST local, a PA-31-350 Piper chieftain landed on rwy 27R at North County Airport (F45) in West Palm Beach, FL. The pilot, experienced an unsafe gear indication prior to landing and attempted to fly NE of F45 to perform maneuvers in an attempt to rock the gear into the down and locked position.

The pilot's attempts were unsuccessful and they attempted an emergency landing at the intended home airport, F45. The aircraft landed on rwy 27R, a grass strip wet from a recent rain allowing for a smoother landing on the belly of the aircraft.

Investigating ASI observed no evidence of prop strike.

Aircraft came to rest 414' west of rwy 14 edge, 30' from rwy edge of rwy 27R and 12' from rwy 27R centerline.

Pilot and other occupant were uninjured and no property on the airport surface was damaged.
