What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
While landing on runway 27 at kral on 12/15/2022 at approximately 1840PST, privacy data omitted, a SR20, lost control and ran of the left side (south) of the runway. The pilot stated that the damage was the result of a "hard landing." The aircraft was attempting to land in the dark after sunset with what the pilot affirms as a partially or completely failed landing light. The pilot stated that when he "initially contacted the runway it was harder than anticipated," and pilot statements indicated that he had difficulty judging aircraft eight above runway as a result. The aircraft bounced 2 or 3 times during landing, sustained damage to the left wing leading edge from impacting airport signage, sustained damage to the nose landing gear, and right main landing gear mounts, and struck the propeller before coming to rest short of taxiway e. the right main landing gear and nose landing gear mounts structurally failed and dug into the infield earth, and all three blades of the propeller were bent/warped after striking the ground. The leading portion of the left main landing gear's cowling appears to have sustained cosmetic damage. The pilot was the only party known to have been onboard and reported being uninjured.
