From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Aircraft departed the paved surface after landing. The aircraft left deep grooves in the grassy section adjacent to the runway. The airport manager notified the local flight standard district office and provided pictures and determined the aircraft involved. The pilot stated they weren't sure what happened. They were arriving with a crosswind and on landing caught a gust of wind and turned off into the grass. After departing the paved surface the pilot did a u-turn and went back out to the runway and departed for groton. Pilot stated everything felt fine and after landing the aircraft looked fine. Pilot noted that they haven't flown since the event and has no intention of operating the aircraft until after an inspection has occurred. Root cause analysis notes workload - ability to cope.
