From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot attempted a takeoff on an unplowed runway with what he estimated to be 10-12 inches of fresh snow. The runway had known snow berms on the edges which blocked the pilot's view of runway edge lights. When the pilot attempted takeoff he stated he didn't percieve he was veering off of the center part of the runway. He assessed that after aproximately 800 feet into the takeoff roll, the aircraft left main tire hit the snow berm, causing the aircraft to sharply turn left, making the aircraft perpendicular to the runway direction. The sharp left turn caused the aircraft to tip to the right, causing the right wingtip to strike the ground/runway. Approximately 2 feet of the outboard right hand wing was substantially damaged. No injuries reported by the pilot or single passenger.

As the FAA filed it
