From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On 21 February, 2023, the second in command (SIC) was the pilot flying with the pilot in command (PIC) monitoring the approach and landing. At approximately 1000 hours local time on approach to runway 2L at Kenai the SIC got lower than intended and leveled off without adding power. The winds were reported by the flight crew to be coming from the left. Airspeed bled off and during the flare to landing the aircraft drifted right and the right wing reportedly stalled and dipped. The SIC stated he brought the engines to idle and the number two engine began to enter beta, or reverse thrust, mode. The SIC initiated a go around by selecting full power on both engines but the number one engine accelerated faster causing the right wing to dip lower and strike a snow bank off the side of the runway. The crew performed the go-around maneuver to left traffic and landed uneventfully on the second attempt. Only damage found was to the right wingtip.

As the FAA filed it
