From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

3/8/2023- Jdy- I was assigned an incident regarding a wildlife strike which occurred on 3/4/2023 at approximately 1930 by my flm. The following information was provided in the incident email: location- kiso. Aircraft id: privacy data omitted, a CE-172. The aircraft struck a deer during landing. There were no injuries to either occupant. Damage occurred to the prop and the landing gear of the aircraft.

3/13/2023- Jdy- I spoke with the pilot on 3/8/2023 to discuss the details of the deer strike. The only discrepancy between the original email notice regarding damage and the pilots description of the damage was that the landing gear was not damaged, the horizontal stabilizer was damaged.

Final note- all "no's" were selected in block 43- pilot struck a deer. Deer strike was unavoidable on the takeoff roll.
