What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
Investigated landing with MLG not down and locked and
Found the gear pump motor circuit breaker tripped during gear extension before down locks were engaged, which the pilot did not notice.
Upon lowering the gear lever on 5 mile final, pilot states they heard gear extend, saw main gear out the window, and verified green down indicator lit.
Upon touchdown the mains were not locked, and the plane settled down on the nose gear and lower skin of the aircraft. Aircraft slid to a stop causing light damage to belly skin and the tip of the LH elevator.
Maintenance personnel reset the breaker and found the gear swing was normal for several swings until the circuit breaker tripped during extension when the main gear was fully extended and pump was building pressure, but had not engaged the down locks, resulting in the gear moving towards the retracted position due to loss of pressure.
Review of maintenance records did not reveal any missed or improper maintenance.
